This Certificate has been designed for those who have gained NVQ Level 4 Advice and Guidance or the LDSS Level 4 award before 2011 (NB Level 4 Diploma in Information and Advice is not eligible) and wish to upgrade their qualification to the level 6 Diploma in Career Guidance and Development and to conditionally join the CDI Register of Career Development Professionals.
The Level 6 units specified to be undertaken are:
unit 2 - Reflect on and improve professional practice and
unit 3 - Career guidance theory
unit 6 - Use career and labour market information with clients.
Each unit requires a written assignment and the careers practitioner’s client career interviews are observed and assessed as part of the evidence for this qualification.
The RGG Associates Tutor/Assessor will work online individually with learners or in small groups using Teams. For individuals, coaching skills are used by our qualified tutor/assessors to develop the knowledge and understanding required to achieve the qualification. For groups of learners, an online programme of formal training sessions and tutorials through Teams are facilitated.
Ideally all learners would be observed in the workplace interviewing a client and both written and verbal feedback provided to the learner by the assessor. However, due to COVID-19 restrictions all learners’ career guidance interventions are being video or audio recorded and assessed as evidence of competence.
