This qualification is suitable for experienced practitioners who work directly with clients on a one to one basis. The practitioner should manage a personal caseload of clients helping them to make decisions about a course of action. The actions could involve decisions on their housing options, health options, future training or general life skills.
The practitioner should also be able to demonstrate how they network with internal and external organisations.
This is an excellent qualification to develop the competences of experienced advisers in one to one interactions, caseload management and networking skills.
For those practitioners who already hold the Level 3 Certificate in Advice and Guidance qualification, accredited prior learning can be used to achieve several units of this diploma.
Learners can be seen individually or in small groups at their workplace. For individuals, coaching skills are used by qualified assessors to develop knowledge and understanding required when working directly with clients. For groups of learners, formal training sessions can be facilitated.
All learners will be observed in the workplace interviewing a client and both written and verbal feedback is provided to the learner by the assessor.
