Choosing the Right Qualification

Which qualification is right for me?

That depends on your current role, your experience, and your professional goals. A useful starting point is our Courses Overview page, which gives a short description of each qualification and who it is designed for. You are also welcome to contact us directly. We will ask you a few questions and tell you which route we think fits your situation.

I am already working in careers. Which qualification do I need?

If you are delivering career guidance and do not yet hold the Level 6 Diploma in Career Guidance and Development, that is the qualification to look at first. If you are leading careers provision in a school or college, the Level 6 Certificate in Careers Leadership is the relevant route. Contact us if you are unsure.

Can I study part-time or while working?

Yes. All of our qualifications are designed for working professionals. Most of our learners are in full-time employment throughout their studies. The Level 6 Diploma is designed to be completed in 12 months alongside a full-time job.

Delivery & Format

How are courses delivered?

All courses are delivered live online via Microsoft Teams, in small cohorts of no more than 15 learners. Sessions are interactive and led by qualified assessors. This is not pre-recorded video content or self-paced e-learning. Every session is live. Every session is live and recorded, so you can re-watch the training content over and over again.

Do I need to travel for any sessions?

No. All delivery is online. You can study from anywhere in England and Wales.

What do I need to take part in online sessions?

A reliable internet connection, a device capable of running Microsoft Teams, and a quiet space to participate. If you have concerns about technology access, contact us before enrolling and we will help you prepare.

Funding & Fees

Is funding available for my qualification?

The Level 6 Certificate in Careers Leadership is funded for eligible learners through the Careers and Enterprise Company. See more here.

You do not show prices on the website. Can you tell me the cost?

We prefer to have a conversation first. Qualification costs vary depending on your circumstances, funding eligibility, and whether you are applying as an individual or through an organisation. Contact us and we will give you a clear, straightforward picture of the cost for your specific situation.

Are payment plans available?

Contact us to discuss payment options. We work with individuals and organisations and are happy to have a straightforward conversation about what works for both sides.

Entry Requirements & Prior Learning

I already hold a Level 4 qualification. Does it count towards Level 6?

It may, depending on the qualification and when it was completed. Contact us with the details of your existing qualification and we will check whether recognition of prior learning applies. Do this before you apply.

I am not sure I meet the entry requirements. What should I do?

Get in touch before you apply. We will be honest with you about whether a qualification is the right fit and what your options are. It is better to have that conversation early than to find out later that a different route would have suited you better.

I completed the Level 6 Certificate in Careers Leadership. Can I progress to the full Level 6 Diploma?

Yes, there is a progression route available. How much of your existing study counts towards the full diploma depends on the specific units you completed. Contact us and we will talk through what that looks like for you. See also our Mandatory Units and Progression Routes page.
